Dyptich Part 2

"Friends Torn Apart"

I choose to take this particular photo because its such a good example of friendship and betrayal. You can be the best of friends but a woman can tear you apart and make you turn on each other.

Dyptich

"The Real Clark Kent"

When I think of Rachael Friedman the first word to pop into my mind is "Super". She's so "Super" she taught Superman to be super. Friedman inspires me everyday, and all of her students.

Surrealism Part 1...

For my project I want to use the struggles of my daily life. Friends, family, what is bothering me. A big part is what goes on at home and also what happens at track. I want to shoot the picture with me sitting in a chair. The challenges of my life will be surrounding me.

Artist Review...

Jacek Yerka:  Jacek Yerka was born in a small city in Northern Poland in the early 1950s. Yerka studied art in college, before rebelling against the trend to paint with less attention to realism and detail. Instead, he found his education studying the works of the Northern European masters like the Van Eycks, Dierck Bouts, Robert Campin, Bosch, and surrealists such as Magritte. Yerka's carefully rendered paintings are filled with images from the artist's childhood, one heavily influenced by the surroundings of his home during the 1950's, and his grandmother's kitchen.
Vladimir Kush: Vladimir Kush was born in Russia in 1965. At the age of 7 he became acquainted with the works of great artists of the Renaissance, famous Impressionists, and Modern Artists. Vladimir entered the Moscow Higher Art and Craft School at age 17. After a year he was conscripted. After six months of military training his unit commander thought it more appropriate to employ him exclusively for peaceful purposes, painting propagandistic posters. After military service and graduating the Institute of Fine Arts, Vladimir painted portraits on Arbat Street to support his family during the hard times in Russia.

Jacek Yerka:
High City Blowing Away- Year unknown.
Description: the painting shows a city getting blown into the wind as if it is forgotten.
Analysis: the painting has a very good balance of color, and the focal point is very clear.
Interpretation: I think that the artist is trying to show the things change over time the old is replaced by the new.
Judgment: I feel that this art work is very successful in drawing attention because I picked it.

Vladimir Kush:
Departure of the Winged Ship- 2000
Description: the painting shows a ship with butterfly wings as the sails.
Analysis: the painting has a great pallet of colors, and it has great balance.
Interpretation: I think the artist is trying to show funny way of alternate power sources.
Judgment: I think the this painting is really successful in capturing the viewer’s attention.

My accomplice took this picture of me in a reflection of her phone.
